📞🚨 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 🚨📞

From APCO's President:

This week, let's take a moment to recognize the unsung heroes behind the scenes - our Public Safety Telecommunicators! Each year, during the second week of April, we celebrate the incredible work of over 100,000 telecommunicators worldwide who tirelessly serve in Emergency Communications Centers (ECCs), handling more than 240 million calls annually.

ECCs nationwide are marking this week with various events to honor these dedicated professionals. From small gestures like decorating doors to larger celebrations with elected officials, every effort counts in showing appreciation.

Let's make this National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week truly special by spreading gratitude and acknowledging the vital role these individuals play in keeping our communities safe. 🎉👏 #NPSTW #thankyoutelecommunicators #behindthescenesheroes

Spring has sprung and public works would like to add a few reminders in preparation of more sun. First, public works will be sweeping streets this week and flushing hydrants. Hydrant flushing can cause water to look rusty. Rule of thumb: let your tap run for a few minutes (some people use their bathtub) and it should go back to normal.

Due to high winds we also have a lot of sticks and branches reported down. We are working on picking them up. If you see a neighbor in need please help them out. The organic compost area at 103 S Main St can handle brush and sticks at this time (please no plastic bags). Lawn clippings can also be placed in the orange metal dumpster.

Please let us know if you have any questions or feel free to call 507-647-5306.
